Student answer (Band 5.5)

it is often argued that individuals should accept bad circumstances, such as financial problems, or unfair treatment during work. Although accepting certain uncertainities might maintain peace of mind, i believe that taking action to improve them is generally more beneficial.

Firsty, many People often face plenty of problems in daily life like the financial problems and having bad experience during work. but instead of trying to find the solution they often try to overlook the problem. The reason being it takes plenty of work and sometimes there isn't any permanent solution available. And for many it can exhausting finding any solution. For instance, plenty of masses often fail to get another job opportunity and then they had to settle with job they have and often work with rude staff.

On the other hand, I believe individuals should try to fix the problems, As taking action can improve financial stability and job satisfaction. If the person does not feel comfortable working with other staff members due to their rude behaviour. it can negatively effect the focus and the mental health. In the long term this issue can distrub personal performance and image among higher. Therefore, a solution should be takin pre-emptive action. For example my friend was working in a cafe but he was often bullied by other staff. But instead of running away from problem. He gave a complaint to the owner of cafe as result the owner fired the staff members.

In conclusion, People usually try to avoid fix the problem because they have limited options. But sometimes taking action is more benefitical and sometimes it can provide better result

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for taking action, especially in the introduction and the paragraph beginning “On the other hand.” The examples about limited job options and your friend’s complaint also make the discussion relevant. However, the view in favour of accepting a bad situation is explained mainly as avoiding effort or lacking alternatives; it would be stronger if you explored why acceptance might be sensible, such as protecting wellbeing when change is outside someone’s control. Your own position is clear, but the conclusion’s claim that action “sometimes” gives better results is less decisive than the introduction. Develop the reasons on both sides more evenly and make the final position consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “On the other hand,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “The reason being” introduces a fragment, while “Therefore, a solution should be takin pre-emptive action” does not clearly connect the preceding point to the proposed response. The first body paragraph also moves from financial problems to workplace difficulties without a clear transition. Use complete linking sentences and make each paragraph’s central point explicit before adding examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial stability,” “job satisfaction,” “mental health,” and “permanent solution.” These choices show an adequate range and help communicate the main ideas. However, inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “uncertainities,” “plenty of masses,” “distrub,” and “image among higher” are examples. Phrases such as “bad experience during work” and “fix the problems” are understandable but imprecise for this discussion. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your arguments clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“Although accepting…”) and conditional structures such as “If the person does not feel comfortable…”. Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include the fragment “The reason being it takes plenty of work,” the missing subject in “And for many it can exhausting,” and the tense shift in “they had to settle.” Sentence boundaries and capitalisation also need attention, as in “behaviour. it can…” and “problems in daily life like… but…”. Practise forming complete clauses, maintaining consistent tense, and checking articles and punctuation. Greater control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to follow.
