Student answer (Band 5.0)

Situations are the part of human life. Some time the situation is bad and other is good. People should be handle the situation. In the countries, some people think that it is better a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money while the other people argue that it is better to try and improve such situation. I partly agree with that view people should accept the the situation but i am not aggaint with second view that people should improve the situation.

On the one hand, the people who think accept the situation are those who never want to workhard. The people want to live their lifes peaceful therefore they prefer not bother the brain with new things and accept the situation.Followed by, people have no motivation and no facilities or sport then they give up and argue to accept the situation.Actually, they afraid from the risks.

On the other hand, the people who argue that try to improve such situation are those who want to become independent and know as a successful man. Some people have faith that life can change from little effort and then people live their lifes peacefuly. For examle, my friend have a local job and shortage money but he always workhard because he says, life not same always and his faith life would change.

To conclude, people who has not facilities, sport and motivation who argue to accept the situation. This type of people not want to face any situation and have no patience. The people who belive that try to improve the situation are full of energy and hardworking. They are not blame and find reasons behind the situation. They have faith on their hardworking and decipline.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and include a personal example about your friend, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are presented mainly as lack of motivation or fear of risk, without considering circumstances that may make acceptance sensible. The case for trying to improve a situation is also asserted more than explained, and the example does not show what your friend actually did to improve his circumstances. Your position—“I partly agree”—is stated, but it is not clearly explained or consistently developed in the conclusion. To strengthen the response, explain when acceptance may be reasonable, develop the benefits of taking action, and make your own view explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint, and the example is placed with the argument it supports. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several claims are listed without clear explanation of how one leads to the next. The conclusion largely repeats earlier points rather than bringing the discussion together, and phrases such as “Followed by” do not connect ideas accurately. Use clearer links to show cause and contrast, and organise each body paragraph around one main reason followed by explanation or an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “unsatisfactory job,” “shortage of money,” “motivation,” “risks,” and “independent.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make parts awkward or unclear, such as “not bother the brain,” “know as a successful man,” and “faith on their hardworking.” Repeated use of “situation,” “people,” and “life” also limits precision. Build a wider set of natural phrases for discussing coping and change, and check spelling and word forms. For example, “workhard” should be written as “work hard,” and “peacefuly” as “peacefully.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast between the two views and a sentence beginning “For example.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns as well as in longer attempts. Examples include “People should be handle the situation,” “my friend have a local job,” and “life not same always,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence structure are faulty. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “the situation” and “their lifes.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
