Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, accept a situation is a widely debated issue. Many people believe that we should accept a bad situation, while others argue that we msut try to improve such situations. This essay will discuss both the views before giving my own.

On the one hand, accept a bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or shortae of money is better according to some people. It offers several advantages and become people's lives much easier. The main reason is that, In our country many people are stick with one organization for decades. and they severe their whole lives for that company. Although, they are not getting enough money , and also not happy with their jobs. But still they work for them, because think they don't have any better option to switch this job. For example, If a sales person spend his wholelife in one organization, they cannot switch his job. Because, they think they cannot work anywhere else. Therefore, It is understandable, why some people support this view.

On the other hand, others argue that we should may try to find some better opportunity, and improve this situation. This not only help individuals to move forward but also allows them to make better decisions for their lives. For instance, If a person not getting a fair salary from his organization, he has a right to switch his job and find some better opportunity. As a result, others arguements are also convincing. In my opinion, we should not stick with unsatisfactory jobs with low amount of money. We should move forward and try to find some better opportunites.

To sum up, I completely agree with second view. Although, unsatisfactory jobs are suitable for some people. But, we have a right to make our lives easier with better opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for improving an unsatisfactory situation, especially in “we should move forward and try to find some better opportunities.” The examples about remaining with one organisation and changing jobs for fairer pay are relevant. However, the first view is not fully explained: the essay describes people staying because they feel they have no alternative, but does not clearly develop why accepting the situation might be beneficial. The second view is also supported mainly by one brief salary example. The conclusion repeats your position rather than adding a developed final insight. Explain the reasons behind each view more fully and support them with specific consequences or examples to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of the discussion, and the overall direction is easy to follow. Some links are mechanical or unclear, however. For example, “Although, they are not getting enough money” is not smoothly connected to the preceding point, and “As a result, others arguements are also convincing” does not clearly show what result is being described. The first body paragraph also contains several short, fragmented statements that interrupt progression. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “unsatisfactory jobs,” “organization,” “salary,” and “opportunity.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “better opportunity” and “situation.” There are also noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems, such as “stick with one organization,” “severe their whole lives,” “low amount of money,” and “opportunites.” These sometimes make the intended meaning less natural or less precise. Build a wider set of expressions for employment and financial circumstances, and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations, such as “remain with an employer” or “earn a low salary,” would make the argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “If a person not getting a fair salary…” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” However, the range is limited, and complex structures are often faulty. Errors include “accept a situation is a widely debated issue,” “This not only help individuals,” and “If a sales person spend his wholelife,” where sentence structure, agreement, or verb forms need correction. There are also problems with articles and punctuation, as in “such as unsatisfactory job” and the inconsistent capitalisation after commas and full stops. Practise building accurate sentences with “if,” “although,” and “because,” and proofread each sentence for a complete subject and correctly formed verb.
