Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear opinion that improving a difficult situation is preferable, and you mention both views: accepting a bad situation may reduce stress, while trying to improve can bring skills and better pay. However, the discussion is brief and the reasons are not sufficiently explained or supported with a specific example, so the task is only partially developed. The first paragraph repeats the prompt rather than advancing the response, and the conclusion mainly restates your position. The response contains 243 words, below the required 250; the 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each view with a clear explanation and a relevant example, and ensure the response meets the minimum length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main position. However, progression within the body paragraphs is weak: the paragraph beginning “However” moves rapidly from stress to health and financial problems, while the next combines skills, salary, personal advice, and family issues without clear links. Connectors such as “However,” “Therefore,” and “In conclusion” are present, but some are used mechanically or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The opening also repeats the task before introducing the essay plan. Group related points, use clearer transitions, and make each paragraph develop one central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unsatisfactory job,” “shortage of money,” “stress,” “skills,” and “salary,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to follow, such as “make you mental peace,” “nothing fainacial issues,” and “make you good in cash.” Repetition of “bad situation,” “money,” and “good” also limits precision. Aim to use accurate, natural phrases for describing financial pressure and personal development, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help express your reasons without relying on repeated or unclear wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify your intended meaning. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Accept a bad situation reduce stress” has an incorrect verb form and agreement, while “Improve a bad situation gives you growth” has a similar problem. Longer constructions such as “when you don't have money you have nothing…” lack clear sentence boundaries, and punctuation is often missing or inconsistent. Articles and sentence structure also need attention. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with correct punctuation; this will make your explanations easier to understand.
