Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's rapidly changing world, responding to a situation has become a matter of considerable debate. While some people believe that it is bst to accept a bad situation and other argue that it is better to try and improve such moments. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaing why I believe that trying to overcome those conditions would be great.

One of the main reasons why people assume it is good to move on with a bad situation is that they can not afford any risk. This is due to their financial terms or health conditions. As a result, they tend to get stuck in those moments. For example, people having EMIs and loans proceed to work instead of taking risks over a business. Therefore, it is clear that people think it is good to go on witht the worst situations.

On the other hand, few say that it is better to try and overcome the situations by taking calculated risks. These bet on the idea they have and finally make the situations better over time. For example, the entrepreneus build a massive company with their idea and make their living way better than others.

In my opinion, it is better to try, take risk and improve situations rather than doing a routine job with dissatisfaction and leading a life with shortage of money. Calculated risks can help the individual grow in life and succeed.

In conclusion, although accepting a bad situation is the worst choice, I believe that people need to struggle and get better, because it not only encourages personal growth but also the nation's growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the introduction and opinion paragraph. The discussion of accepting a bad situation is relevant: financial commitments and health conditions can make risk-taking difficult, and the example of people with loans supports this point. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The argument for improvement relies mainly on a broad claim about entrepreneurs building successful companies, without explaining how people can assess risks or what realistic steps they might take. The conclusion also calls acceptance “the worst choice,” which is stronger than the nuanced case made earlier. Develop each view with more specific reasoning and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify shifts. However, some linking is mechanical, with repeated patterns such as “For example” and “Therefore,” and the relationship between ideas is not always precise. For instance, “As a result, they tend to get stuck in those moments” does not clearly explain how financial or health constraints lead to remaining in a situation. Use more explicit links between cause, example, and conclusion, and connect your opinion more closely to the arguments in the preceding paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “calculated risks,” “financial terms,” “health conditions,” and “personal growth.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several inaccurate or awkward expressions limit precision: “financial terms” does not naturally describe a person’s financial circumstances, “move on with a bad situation” is unclear, and “make their living way better” is informal and imprecise. There are also spelling errors such as “bst,” “explaing,” and “entrepreneus,” alongside the incorrect phrase “witht the worst situations.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; precise wording will make your arguments sound more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple sentences and more complex forms, including a concessive opening (“While some people believe…”) and a reason clause (“because it not only encourages…”). Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors and awkward constructions reduce accuracy. For example, “other argue” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “people having EMIs and loans proceed to work” uses an unclear participle construction. In “it is better to try, take risk and improve situations,” the list needs consistent forms and appropriate plural marking. The final sentence also needs parallel structure after “not only.” Review agreement, articles and plurals, and practise building accurate complex sentences while keeping the meaning of each clause clear.
