Student answer (Band 6.0)

There are different opinions about how people deal when they face a bad situation. Some people believe they should accept it as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money, while others contradicts and states it is better to try and improve such situations. In my opinion, giving a try and comeback in situations is more effective than accepting it.

on the one hand, some people believe that accepting difficult circumstanses is traditional way because it avoids additional stress to them. tis is particularly true for individuals who has family responsibilities, as making major changes may cause them additional risks. For example, an employee who has a stable income but with less salary may choose this way because if he take any major decision like resigning the job may cause him unemployment and many family problems.so accepting such circumstances is better.

On the other hand, I believe that making efforts to improve difficult circumstances is generally a better approach because it creates opportunities for personal and professional growth. Rather than remaining dissatisfied, individuals can develop new skills, pursue further education or search for better employment. For instance, an employee who is unhappy with their salary could enrol in professional training to qualify for a more senior position. Such efforts may not produce immediate results, but they can eventually lead to greater financial security and a better quality of life.

In conclusion, although accepting difficult circumstances can sometimes provide security and reduce stress, I believe that people should generally try to improve their situations whenever possible, as this can lead to better opportunities and a more fulfilling life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both views and give a clear opinion: accepting a difficult situation may protect family security, while trying to improve it can create better opportunities. The examples about a worker risking unemployment and someone undertaking training are relevant. However, the first view is less fully developed than your argument for change; explain more about when acceptance is sensible and why. Your conclusion restates your position effectively. The response is one word below the required 250-word minimum, and 17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, develop both sides more evenly and add a little original explanation or support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from the risks of change to the potential benefits is easy to follow, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, and the first body paragraph’s example and explanation run together, making the reasoning less clear. There is also a missing space after “situations.” before “In my opinion,” and the opening transition “on the one hand” should be capitalised. Use paragraph breaks and punctuation consistently, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “family responsibilities,” “personal and professional growth,” “professional training,” and “financial security.” These choices communicate the main ideas clearly. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “giving a try and comeback in situations” is unclear, “others contradicts” is not the right expression for presenting an opposing view, and “circumstanses” is misspelled. “Less salary” is also an unnatural collocation. Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than attempting expressions whose meaning is uncertain, and proofread spelling. More precise vocabulary would make the argument sound more fluent and controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if he take any major decision” and a contrast clause beginning “although accepting difficult circumstances.” Most of the later paragraph is grammatically clear, so the reader can follow your position. Some errors remain in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “others contradicts and states” should have a plural verb, while “an employee who has” conflicts with the later “he take.” The sentence about resigning also needs clearer construction and punctuation. Check subject–verb agreement and keep pronouns consistent; then review long sentences to ensure clauses are joined and punctuated correctly.
