Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, some individuals see that the acceptance of non-suitable situation like unsatisfactory job or less shortage of money is the best. Others find that the better option is to try and enhance these situations. I totally stand with the second view. In this essay, we will discuss both views in detail.

On one side, some people find the stability is the most important factor in their life. Therefore, they prefer to accept hard job even with low salaries to save a stable monthly income. For example, an engineer with 7 years of experience accepts a job with half salary of his qualification, he believes that one bird in hand is better than ten birds on tree.

On the other side, others have the ability to develop their lifes and those will never accept an unsatisfactory job for preserve their financial stability. As a result, they will try hard and improve their qualifications to meet the high salary's jobs criteria. For instance, they will try to get more certifications related to their field and they can work samrt not hard to get the same end result. These people think that it is possible to achieve an impossible targets by enhancing the current situation and they prefer to go through challanged situations instead of accepting bad ones.

In conclusion, it is often argued that accepting bad situation with low salary or take some risks to improve this situation. For my prespective, I prefer to enhance my bad situation rather than accepting it. Furthermore, we find the rich people always from the second group who never accept a bad situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your position clearly: “I totally stand with the second view,” then reaffirm that you would improve a bad situation. The discussion of stability is relevant, and the engineer example helps illustrate why someone might accept a lower-paid job. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the first is explained mainly through financial security, while the second relies on broad claims about qualifications and “rich people” without showing how improvement might work or what risks it involves. The conclusion also introduces a generalisation about wealthy people that is not supported by the discussion. Develop each view with a fuller explanation and a specific, credible example, and make the final judgement follow directly from those points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On one side,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some of the stronger control associated with more flexible organisation. However, the linking is somewhat formulaic, and some references are unclear: “those” in the second body paragraph does not have a precise antecedent, while “this situation” in the conclusion could refer to either low pay or a bad situation generally. Use more varied transitions and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “stability,” “financial stability,” “qualifications,” and “certifications,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “enhance these situations,” though the phrasing is not always natural. Several word-choice and collocation problems make the language noticeably imprecise: “non-suitable situation,” “less shortage of money,” and “high salary’s jobs criteria” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. Spelling errors such as “samrt” and “challanged,” along with “lifes,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of natural collocations for employment and finances, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style example and clauses introduced by “Therefore” and “As a result.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction and agreement. For example, “an engineer … accepts … he believes” joins two independent clauses with only a comma, and “they will try hard and improve their qualifications to meet” has an unclear relationship between the actions and purpose. In the conclusion, “it is often argued that accepting … or take some risks” does not form a complete, parallel clause. Review sentence boundaries, parallel structures, articles, and plural forms; then proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is complete and its subject is clear.
