Student answer (Band 6.0)

Every individual react different when facing a bad situation. People often believe that everything happens in life like money shortage or unsatisfactory job people should accept the situation while I contend that one should try to overcome the situation and try improve such condition.

On the one hand, the arguement such people make is that every bad situation happen like have some shortage of people or the unwanted job with low salary is part of life. They believe people should be present oriented and focus on ongoing life and have religious perspective that everything happen for a reason. People should adapt to situations and accept what they have despite caring about the future.

On the other hand, people should be aware of the situation and should try their best to come out of it. Simply accepting the situation and not try to think of improve it could make it even worse. If someone is not happy with his work he should try to find different job opportunities with high salaries and with their interest related. For instance, if any person has shortage of money there would be better chances that he would change it if he tries rather than just accepting the situation.

In my opinion, there should be acceptance and adaptation to the situation and having believe that everything comes from God is good to some extent but people should try to improve the situation and make it better rather than just accepting it.

In conclusion, while some people like to live in present and accept the life how it is. I strongly believe one should improve it as much as they can.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the opening and conclusion. The discussion of acceptance is relevant: you explain that some people see hardship as part of life and adopt a religious perspective. You also give practical examples involving changing jobs and responding to a shortage of money. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the acceptance argument is mostly described rather than supported with a specific consequence or example, and the money example remains general. Your own position also combines acceptance and action, but the relationship between these ideas could be explained more clearly. Develop each main point with a reason and a concrete illustration to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position. This coherent arrangement meets the task well. To strengthen cohesion further, avoid repeating the same idea about accepting or improving a situation in both the opinion paragraph and conclusion; instead, use the conclusion to summarise the reasoning. Some links between sentences are also abrupt, particularly in the first body paragraph, where the ideas about being present-oriented and having a religious perspective could be connected more explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “unsatisfactory job,” “shortage of money,” “adapt to situations,” and “job opportunities.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “present oriented” and “religious perspective.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which limits precision: “shortage of people” does not express the intended financial difficulty, and “with their interest related” is unclear. Spelling errors such as “arguement” are noticeable, while repeated use of “situation,” “accept,” and “improve” makes the vocabulary less varied. Choose more natural collocations and check spelling to make your meaning consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If someone is not happy with his work he should try to find different job opportunities.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, and paragraphing helps the reader follow your argument. However, some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “Every individual react” needs subject–verb agreement, while “everything happen” and “not try to think of improve it” contain verb-form problems. Articles are also missing in phrases such as “find different job opportunities.” Review these patterns and punctuate longer sentences carefully. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make the argument clearer and more controlled.
