Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is an undeniable fact that some people argue that a bad time comes in life and it is good to accept it like jobless or money shortage.Others argue that it's better to try hard and improve yourself in this situation. Both of them have different ideas about this then we will discuss about it.

On the one hand, some people believed that bad time finished our skills and we will become zero. They more think that after become jobless and shortage of money they totally felt in problems. So, they accept these problems and started to live with these problems. That's the point of these person.

On the second hand, others said that if problems comes in your life you would have to face it and tried hard to finish these problems. The main point is improve your skills and regret these problems. Ups and downs come in every person's life it's better to face it and finished these problems. Hence, these are the points of other hand.

In conclusion, both person have different thoughts and they both agreed with his statement. In my opinion, at first when we become jobless or have shortage of money then we have to understood our mistake. Then we have to tried to give up the mistake and started to improve your weak point. Finally, you would left the past problem and become successful in your life. For instance, if you lost your job beacuse of coming late at office your have to prepared yourself and managed your time. But, if you have shortage of money then you have to use your money with with and not used your money on any waste thing. You have to used your money on your important things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views: the first body paragraph describes accepting unemployment or financial hardship, while the next argues for facing problems and improving. Your own position appears in the conclusion, where you recommend learning from mistakes and taking practical steps, such as managing time after losing a job. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view is asserted rather than explained, and the second repeats that people should “face” and “finish” problems without showing how this approach works or when acceptance might be sensible. The conclusion also says both people “agreed with his statement,” which does not clearly summarise the opposing views. Explain the reasons behind each position and make your own view clear throughout, not only at the end.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the second hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several sentences repeat the same point, especially the advice to face and finish problems. Some linking expressions are inaccurate or mechanical, and references such as “these person” and “they both agreed with his statement” make it difficult to follow who holds which view. Organise each body paragraph around one clear reason, then explain it with a relevant example. Use linking words selectively and ensure pronouns clearly refer to the people or ideas already mentioned.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “jobless,” “shortage of money,” “skills,” and “successful,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “problems,” “improve,” and “face.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “bad time finished our skills,” “regret these problems,” and “use your money with with,” which can make the intended meaning unclear. Spelling errors such as “beacuse” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for hardship and solutions, and check collocations in context. For example, describe a “financial difficulty” and say someone can “address” or “overcome” a problem rather than repeatedly saying “finish” it.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional examples such as “if you lost your job…” and a concluding sequence of actions. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “some people believed” where the present-tense discussion calls for “believe,” “if problems comes,” and “we have to understood.” The sentence beginning “Both of them have different ideas about this then…” also joins ideas without suitable punctuation or a clear grammatical link. Practise forming accurate present-tense statements and conditionals, and check subject–verb agreement and verb patterns after “have to.” Breaking long or joined sentences into clear clauses will improve readability.
