Student answer (Band 5.5)

Now a days, the people face different problem in thier lives, such as unsatisfactory jobs and the shortage of money. Some people believe that is better the accept these difficult situations, while other think that people should try to improve them.In my opinion, people should make effort to change thier situation instead of accepting them.On the hand, some people believe that the bad situation is a better option. This is because sometime the people cannot change the circumstances easily.A person who has lower salary job may have family responsibilities and connot leave the job immediately. Moreover accepting reality to reduce the stress and help people live peacefully. therefore acceptness can sometimes be a practical choice.on the other hand,I believe that trying to improve difficult situations is more beneficial.People should work hard and search for better opportunities. For instance,if someone is unhappy with their job,the can learn new skills, improve thier education and apply for a better position.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a relevant opinion—that people should try to improve their circumstances—and give a reason for accepting a difficult situation, namely family responsibilities and the risk of stress. The example of learning new skills and applying for a better position is also appropriate. However, the discussion is only partial: the reasons on both sides are stated briefly, and the example is not developed with a specific outcome or explanation. Your position is clear in the opening, but the response ends before it is fully reinforced. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to address all parts of the task fully. Extend each view with explanation and a relevant example, then conclude by restating your judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable overall order: it introduces the issue, considers acceptance, and then presents your preferred approach. Phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal the contrast between the views. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph, so the progression is difficult to follow and the two sides are not clearly separated. Some linking is also mechanical or inaccurate: “On the hand” is incomplete, and “therefore” does not clearly connect to the preceding sentence. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each viewpoint, and the conclusion. Within them, connect each reason to its explanation or example, and use referencing and transitions consistently.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “family responsibilities,” “circumstances,” “opportunities,” and “learn new skills.” These choices show some range beyond very basic language. However, several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “thier,” “acceptness,” and “lower salary job.” Some expressions are also repetitive, particularly “bad situation” and “difficult situations.” Aim to use accurate forms and more natural combinations, such as “a low-paid job” and “accepting reality,” and vary the wording for the central idea. Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your meaning more consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional example: “A person who has lower salary job may have family responsibilities and connot leave the job immediately.” This shows an effort to explain ideas rather than relying only on short sentences. However, the range remains limited, and errors in sentence construction and punctuation occur often enough to affect readability. For example, “Moreover accepting reality to reduce the stress and help people live peacefully” is not a complete sentence, while “some people believe that is better the accept” has an unclear grammatical structure. Capitalisation and spacing after punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, agreement, and punctuation when editing.
