Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some may argue that accepting a bad situation is the best way to deal with it while others argue that try to overcome or try to improve the situation is the best way to deal with it. In my opinion i think that no giving up and try to improve the bad situation is the best way to overcome it.

Nowadays bad sitiations are more common than the past. Therefore people should ready to face it. However some people do not have enough confidence to overcome those situations. As a result they think that accept a such situation is more beneficial than overcoming it. They think try to overcoming such a situation can worse the difficult situation. For instance, try to avoid unsatisfactory job conditions people may resign from the jobs. After that they may think unemployment can be happen and thinks that having a unfavourable job is more valuble than unemployment.

However some argue thath it is worthy to try and improve difficult situations. One of the main reasons why people prefer to overcome such situations is that it can cbe a lesson for the future. This is because avoiding challenging situations cannot be a solution for all the situations. Some times people have to overcome those. Therefore once they try to overcome it, It builds confidence of people mind. For example, Difficult conditions like shortage of money always not avoidable. Income is neccesary for life existence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a preference for trying to improve a difficult situation, so the response is relevant to the question. The example of staying in an unsatisfactory job because resignation could lead to unemployment helps explain why some people accept hardship. However, the discussion is only partial: the second view is supported mainly by general claims about learning and confidence, and the shortage-of-money example is not developed into a clear explanation. Your opinion appears in the introduction but is not reinforced in a concluding paragraph. The response also falls 12 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the ideas. Extend each view with a specific reason or example and finish by clearly restating your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining acceptance, and a paragraph supporting improvement. Connectors such as “However,” “As a result,” and “For instance” show an effort to link ideas. Nevertheless, progression is uneven, and the essay ends abruptly after “Income is necessary for life existence,” without a conclusion that brings the discussion together. Some links are also unclear or repetitive, particularly the repeated phrasing about overcoming a situation. Develop a clear sequence within each body paragraph—main point, explanation, and example—and use a final paragraph to summarise both views and your opinion. This would make the organisation more complete and the connections between ideas easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unsatisfactory job,” “unemployment,” “challenging situations,” and “shortage of money.” These choices make the subject clear, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the intended meaning harder to understand. Examples include “bad sitiations,” “it is worthy to try,” and “builds confidence of people mind.” Spelling errors such as “valuble” and “neccesary” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe a situation as “difficult to improve” rather than repeating “bad situation,” and explain that overcoming challenges can “build self-confidence.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result they think…” and a conditional idea about resigning and unemployment. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement. For example, “people should ready to face it” needs a verb, while “try to overcoming” uses an incorrect verb pattern. In “unemployment can be happen,” the modal construction is faulty, and “a such situation” has an incorrect article pattern. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “It” and “Difficult” mid-sentence. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences using correct verb patterns and articles.
