Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. The examples about staying in an unsatisfactory job to support a family and seeking other employment or additional income are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is not equally developed: the case for acceptance is mainly linked to peace and stability, while the improvement paragraph gives several possible actions without explaining how realistic or effective they are. The point about budgeting is also introduced briefly rather than connected clearly to the wider argument. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits and limitations of each view in more depth and support your opinion with a more specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the line of argument easy to follow, and phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” signal the stages of the discussion. There is also some progression from the reasons for accepting a situation to possible ways of changing it. However, cohesion is not always smooth: “Moreover” introduces another example without showing how it develops the previous point, and “so that” begins an awkwardly connected sentence. Some ideas are repeated, especially the claim that acceptance brings peace or stability. Use linking phrases more selectively and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “stability,” “strain,” “opportunities,” “financial security,” and “personal satisfaction.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range and control are limited by repeated general wording such as “bad situation,” “people,” and “improve.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “finacial,” “accpeting,” “disappintment,” and “opportunties,” as well as inaccurate word forms or collocations such as “work stations” for jobs and “additional method of income.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and proofread spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “This is because” and a relative clause beginning “who are unhappy.” However, control is uneven, and many sentences contain errors in agreement, articles, or sentence construction. For example, “accepting these situations are best way” has a subject–verb agreement problem and a missing article, while “people who have financial difficulty so they need to manage” combines clauses incorrectly. The sentence “employees who are dissatisfied with their job they can find” also has a duplicated subject structure. These patterns sometimes make the reader work to understand the relationships between ideas. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement and articles.
