Student answer (Band 5.5)
Recycling is the best way to protect the environment and the climate. However, some people do not recycle their rubbish as frequently as they should. In this essay I will discuss the reasons for this problems and suggest some effective solutions.
There are several reasons why people fail to recycle their waste. The main reason is that the lack of awareness they think that it is not important for nature. Moreover, the another reason some people consider that when others people do not recycle any kind of products then why I do it. Many individuals do not understand the wasted products can be harmful for the environment. Some people want to recycle their rubbish but when they saw most of the people dirty the nature that time they were unwilling to recycle.
However, several steps can be taken to protect the nature that can be easy for people. Like when many people come to protect the climate against the waste products. Moreover every person can use one time-plastic that is not harmful for nature. For save the environment we need to work together because it is not possible by one or two person. Because a healthy environment is very essential for every person. people and children can live without any diseases. Every person and children need to learn about the environment and how we save this. Also government can take some steps against the waste.
To sum up, for a good nature we need to stop waste the rubbish and recycle their products. I believe that education, better facilities and government can significantly improve recycling habits and stop wasting products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you identify limited awareness and people’s tendency to follow others as reasons, and suggest education, collective action and government involvement. These points are relevant, but they are not developed clearly enough to fully explain the problem or show how the proposed measures would work. For example, explain what people misunderstand about recycling, and give a practical example of how education or government action could change behaviour, such as providing clear instructions or convenient collection points. The claim that people can use “one time-plastic” is unclear and does not convincingly answer how recycling can be increased. Your concluding view is present, but the essay’s ideas remain general and some solutions are insufficiently explained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Moreover,” “However” and “To sum up” helps readers identify these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the reasons paragraph moves from lack of awareness to people copying others without clearly connecting or extending those points. The solutions paragraph shifts among collective action, plastic use, education and government action, so its central line is difficult to follow. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically or do not express the intended relationship, as in “Because a healthy environment…” after the preceding sentence. Group related ideas and use clearer references and transitions to show how each point supports the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “waste,” “environment,” “climate” and “government,” which makes the general subject clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to understand. For instance, “the another reason,” “dirty the nature,” “one time-plastic” and “stop waste the rubbish” are not natural expressions in this context. Repetition of “nature,” “people” and “products” also limits precision. Build a more varied set of accurate terms for causes and solutions, such as “lack of awareness,” “recycling facilities,” “sort household waste” and “single-use plastic,” and check that each phrase expresses the intended idea.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts to form complex sentences often contain errors. Examples include “The main reason is that the lack of awareness they think…” and “when they saw most of the people… that time they were unwilling,” where clause structure and tense control are faulty. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “the another reason,” “one or two person,” and the lower-case “people” after a full stop. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Practise building complete clauses with clear subjects and verbs, then check tense, singular/plural agreement and punctuation.
