Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for low recycling rates and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. For instance, the reasons provided, such as 'laziness' and 'less time,' are not fully explored in an academic context. The example regarding the sugar factory is relevant but lacks a clear connection to the broader issue of household recycling habits. The position is clear, but the overall argument lacks the depth and sophistication required for a higher band. To improve, you should focus on providing more detailed explanations and more relevant, well-integrated examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'To embark upon' to start the first body paragraph, which is not a standard academic transition. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the transition between the causes and the solutions. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Firstly' and 'In contrast,' the flow between sentences is often interrupted by grammatical errors, making the overall coherence feel somewhat forced rather than natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'rubbish,' 'waste,' and 'things.' There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'make timetable,' 'do exercise,' and 'greenery around surrounding.' These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To achieve a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise academic collocations and less common lexical items. Focus on learning how words are used in context rather than just memorizing isolated terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'laziness which is happen,' 'industries who has wastes'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex structures, such as 'there will be not any diseases will spread.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures.
