Student answer (Band 6.5)

In numerous nations, individuals are not recycling their domestic waste which they throduce in their daily routine. In this essay, first I will discuss the causes behind this trend and then suggest some solution to tackle this obstacle.

There are several reasons associated with this trend. To commence with, there is less awarness about recycling in several nations. The people of some nation even don't know what is meaning of recycling especially in rural areas where people prefer to dispose or burn their waste which is significantly harmful for enviorment. Moreover, in era of modernization, people are very busy in their personal and professional life. Despite, some people give time to nature but most of the individuals do not support to improve quality of nature by performing eco-friendly activities like recycling.

Several measures can be undertaken to adress this issue. First and foremost, education centers have to motivate students to do more recycling. Thus, they have to teach scholars about the significance of recycling in preserving nature. Hence, it will increase people efforts toward recycling. Moreover, government has to provide basic machinery to city centres and rural areas, which is important for the process of recycling. For instance, instruments like separater have to introduce in every street. It will reduce the wast and provide assistana to individual to recycle more.

In conclusion, it is apparent from the above discussion that main factors why people do less recycling than they have to need is their hectic schedule and less awarness about recycling. Teaching about recycling in school or colleges and provide basic instrument to people are the prominent solutions to overcome this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the lack of awareness and the impact of a hectic lifestyle. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion to provide 'basic machinery' is a good idea, but it lacks specific detail on how this would be implemented or why it would be effective beyond a general statement. The position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from more depth and specific examples to reach a higher band. Overall, it covers all parts of the task well enough for a solid score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. The introduction and conclusion provide a clear framework. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'First and foremost' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow could be smoother. For example, the transition between the lack of awareness and the hectic lifestyle in the second paragraph is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'modernization' and 'eco-friendly', but there are also several spelling errors (e.g., 'throduce', 'awarness', 'enviorment', 'separater', 'assistana'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do indicate a need for more attention to accuracy. The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Improving spelling and using more varied collocations would enhance the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'what is meaning of recycling', 'people of some nation even don't know', and 'provide basic instrument to people'. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. While the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often faulty, which limits the score. To improve, the writer should focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring that complex structures are formed correctly to avoid frequent minor errors.
