Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for low recycling rates and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided, such as people not considering it their concern, are somewhat superficial and lack depth. The example of 'Ram house' is vague and does not clearly illustrate a broader societal trend or a specific, well-known practice. While the response covers the requirements, the arguments are underdeveloped, and the focus remains quite general throughout. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and more concrete, relevant examples that clearly connect to the global context of waste management.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally' and 'Moreover', they are occasionally used mechanically or in ways that do not perfectly fit the context. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between the example and the broader argument is weak. The conclusion is present but feels somewhat abrupt. Improving the use of linking words to create smoother transitions between sentences and paragraphs would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is significant repetition of the word 'rubbish' and 'recycling', which limits the sophistication of the text. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'complicated issues on the waste management' or 'financial aids to the people'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety in vocabulary and the occasional misuse of collocations prevent a higher score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic synonyms and precise terminology related to environmental issues would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'it becomes complicated issues on the waste management' (subject-verb agreement and preposition usage) and 'rubbish should be minimized in each house which need recycling' (relative clause error). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with article usage and pluralisation throughout the text. While the errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
