Student answer (Band 6.0)
In most of the countries, Individuals do not recycle their waste garbage as they have to clean out the waste for polluted free environment. This essay will be discussed the problem behind this situation and give the effective solution.
First of all, there are negligence from both side of individuals and government because individuals lack basic knowledge about how to sort waste while cities do not provide enough local recycling bins and pickup system. The other reason is that the law is very weak, so there is no penalty for throwing waste away, that is why people are not responsible. However, dirty garbage may cause a lot of disease such as, malaria, dengue, and asthma and all. Moreover, sorting and cleaning trash takes extra time and effort in busy daily lives.
There are some effective solutions, government must build better waste collection system with separate bins for every homes and authorities should fine citizens for not following the rules of garbage trash, this is the effective way to solve this problem. Cities can place clear recycling bins in public streets and near buildings. Furthermore, schools and media campaigns should teach individuals the value of protecting nature by trashing the waste, because if they do not recycling the waste nature might harm.
In conclusion, this is the main reason is that the low recycling rates are driven by insufficient public awareness and inadequate waste infrastructure, which can be mitigated through stricter government regulations and nationwide education campaigns. Achieving a sustainable future requires combining robust infrastructure with active citizen participation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the mention of diseases like 'malaria' and 'dengue' as a consequence of poor recycling is not entirely logical or well-explained in the context of general household waste. While the solutions provided (fines, better infrastructure, education) are relevant, they are presented in a somewhat list-like fashion without deep exploration. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more specific examples or logical explanations of how the proposed solutions would work in practice.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help the reader follow the flow of ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the connection between sentences could be smoother; for example, the jump from discussing weak laws to the health impacts of garbage is abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the second paragraph could be improved to ensure a more seamless progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'recycling rates', 'infrastructure', and 'sustainable future'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'waste garbage', 'polluted free environment', and 'trashing the waste'. These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning common collocations (e.g., 'waste management' instead of 'waste garbage') and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the law is very weak', 'the effective solution'), subject-verb agreement ('this essay will be discussed'), and pluralization ('every homes'). Some sentences are slightly ungrammatical, such as 'there are negligence from both side'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your points. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate better control over basic grammar, particularly articles and plural forms, and aim for more error-free complex sentences.
