Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development is limited. The ideas, such as 'lack of awareness' and 'inconvenience', are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with specific examples. The argument remains somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on the general idea of 'government initiative' without providing concrete, detailed strategies. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' more thoroughly, perhaps by discussing specific economic or social barriers to recycling in your own country.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression within them is weak. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or misused, such as 'The another reason' or 'as because of these'. The transition between ideas feels mechanical rather than natural. While the overall structure is clear, the internal flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of variety in linking words. To improve, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in addition to this') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'waste', 'recycling', and 'management'. There are also instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'inconvenient of recycling machines' (should be 'inconvenience of') and 'take some initiative to aware the public' (should be 'raise awareness'). The range is sufficient to convey the basic message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues and avoid repeating the same words in close proximity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('children's can get affected'), incorrect sentence structure ('There can be many diseases can occur'), and misuse of articles ('the recycling is becoming'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. The majority of your sentences are simple or contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Proofreading for these common errors before finishing your task would be highly beneficial.
