Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay identifies reasons and solutions, the arguments are underdeveloped and the conclusion is incomplete, trailing off mid-sentence. The response addresses the prompt's requirements, but the lack of depth and the unfinished nature of the text prevent a higher score. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored with sufficient supporting evidence and that the essay is completed in full.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the logical progression is hindered by the incomplete conclusion and the brevity of the paragraphs. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending disrupts the overall flow of the argument. To improve, focus on ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the essay concludes with a coherent summary of the main points discussed, rather than leaving the text unfinished.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'RECYCING' and 'RECYLCLING', and some awkward phrasing like 'toxin adding into individuals' food chain'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, relying on simple terms to convey ideas. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure you proofread for basic spelling errors before submitting your work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'RECYCING PLAYS A VITAL ROLE... BY MANY HARMFUL ACTIVITIES' and 'government take some actions', which lacks proper subject-verb agreement. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors occur frequently and detract from the overall quality of the writing. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement to improve accuracy.
