Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 137 words. Consequently, the ideas are significantly underdeveloped. While the essay attempts to address both parts of the prompt—reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions—the arguments are superficial. For instance, the claim that 'millionaire people' do not recycle due to a lack of time is a broad generalization that lacks supporting evidence or logical depth. The proposed solutions, such as government-funded recycling machines, are mentioned but not expanded upon to show how they would effectively change public behavior. To improve, you must elaborate on your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. It is written as a single block of text rather than organized into distinct paragraphs for the introduction, body, and conclusion. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; sentences feel disjointed, such as the sudden transition from discussing 'millionaire people' to 'middle class people'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the logical flow is interrupted by repetitive phrasing and a lack of transition words. To improve, you should use paragraphing to separate your main ideas and employ linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'garbage', 'recycle', and 'people'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the millionaire people' instead of 'wealthy individuals' or 'the usage' which is unclear in context. The phrasing 'the changes are require by GOVT' is grammatically incorrect and uses informal abbreviations. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary by using more precise nouns, adjectives, and verbs, and ensure that you use them in the correct context. Avoid repeating the same words in close proximity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'the millionaire people not think' and 'the changes are require'. Articles are frequently misused or omitted, for example, 'clearing the enviroment' and 'in return of every plastic bottles'. Sentence structures are mostly simple and repetitive, lacking the complexity required for higher bands. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary auxiliary verbs. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses, pluralization, and the appropriate use of articles before attempting more complex sentence structures.
