Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 110 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While the introduction attempts to outline the reasons and solutions, the body paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, preventing the development of any coherent argument or supporting examples. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full response that explores both parts of the prompt—the reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions—with sufficient depth and supporting evidence to meet the minimum length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt at an introduction and a transition to a body paragraph using 'To commence with', the text ends abruptly. There is no logical progression of ideas because the argument is never completed. Paragraphing is present but ineffective as the second paragraph is merely a fragment. To improve, focus on planning your essay into four distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for reasons, one for solutions), and a conclusion. Ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and supporting details.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'most of countries' and 'drawbacks of poor recycling of scrap' are somewhat unnatural. There are also spelling errors such as 'generared' and 'comman'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which hinders the ability to express complex ideas effectively. To improve, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to environmental issues, such as 'sustainability', 'waste management', or 'environmental degradation', and focus on using more accurate collocations rather than simple word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains several grammatical errors, such as 'the most of countries' (should be 'most countries') and 'this this' (repetition). The sentence structure is simplistic, and the incomplete nature of the text makes it difficult to assess a full range of structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the spacing around commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for minor errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage. Aim to incorporate a mix of simple and complex sentences to demonstrate better grammatical control.
