Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, which severely limits the development of ideas. While the prompt asks for reasons why people do not recycle and suggestions for change, the response only touches upon these points superficially. The ideas are repetitive, such as the mention of 'rubbish' and 'disease' multiple times without elaboration. The lack of depth and the failure to meet the minimum length requirement mean that the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for full development of your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure or logical progression. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the ideas are presented in a single, disjointed paragraph. Cohesive devices are almost entirely absent, making the flow of the text mechanical and difficult to follow. For example, the transition between the health risks of rubbish and the reasons for not recycling is abrupt. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing to separate your introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, and employ linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. Words like 'rubbish', 'people', and 'disease' are used frequently without variation. There is no attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary, and some word choices are imprecise, such as 'rubbish produce many Diseases'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To improve, you should focus on learning synonyms and collocations related to environmental issues, such as 'waste management', 'sustainability', or 'environmental degradation', and practice using them in context to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('rubbish produce'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. For instance, the phrase 'government donot take care of society they donot recycle their rubbish' is a run-on sentence that lacks proper punctuation. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and the use of conjunctions to create complex sentences.
