Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'lack of awareness' and 'government seminars,' these points are not fully extended with deep analysis or specific, well-integrated examples. The example regarding India is a bit vague and doesn't clearly link back to a systemic solution. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason and solution is supported by a clear, logical explanation that demonstrates a deeper understanding of the issue. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the argument remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To commence with,' 'In other words,' and 'To conclude,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'hiking the pilled up of rubbish.' Additionally, some sentences are slightly disjointed, and the flow between ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'throw away culture,' 'multifarious,' and 'environmental pollution.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'garbage is risen remarkably' (should be 'has risen') and 'offering the campion' (likely meant 'campaign'). Some phrasing is also unnatural, such as 'hiking the pilled up of rubbish.' To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'governments ought to be provided the seminars' (should be 'should provide') and 'recycling the products are not followed' (should be 'is not followed'). Subject-verb agreement and passive voice construction are areas that require attention. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for verb forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
