Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as lack of awareness and the need for government intervention. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of why people do not recycle is repetitive, focusing primarily on 'lack of awareness' without exploring other factors like convenience or infrastructure. The example regarding the city of Turbat is specific, which is a strength, but the overall argument lacks depth and nuance. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' with more sophisticated reasoning and ensure that the solutions proposed are linked more clearly to the specific problems identified.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the comma placement in 'Furthermore, several things could be done to alter this ,the first one is...'. Additionally, some sentences within paragraphs feel disjointed, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring punctuation is accurate would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'hazardous', 'detrimental', and 'revenue'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'how prosper this step could be' (likely meaning 'how beneficial') and 'fusty bottles' (fusty usually refers to smell/mold, not empty plastic). There is also a tendency to repeat basic words like 'stuff' and 'things'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations that sound natural in an English context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'Every citizens must be aware regarding recycling' (subject-verb agreement) and 'Every household and individuals should be aware by government' (passive voice usage). Punctuation is a significant issue throughout the essay, particularly the inconsistent and incorrect use of commas, such as 'Individuals ,mostly do not have any idea ,how prosper...'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not fully impede communication. Focusing on basic sentence construction and punctuation rules will help improve your accuracy.
