Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's world with the increase in population the waste rubbish has increased due to fact the people have been involved in recycling the rubbish which has benefited everyone. But it is seen that people in many countries do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could have. I my view, it is mainly due to the lack of knowledge and awareness. There are various factors and method to change this.

One of the major reason is the lack of public knowledge about recycling. Although technology and AI has been used for recycling but still many people are unaware of the recycling their rubbish. Another reason is that in our society there are very few oganizations that focuses and are willing to recycle the wastage due to this many members of society are still lacing to recycle materials such as clothes, plastic bags and other rubbish. For instance, in my community people have basic knowledge of plastic bottle recycling but many individuals still do not have education about other rubbish recycling. Thus, people are unaware of the recycling the various types of rubbish.

This kind of issue is not unsolvable firstly, the authorities should spread awareness program across the nation which will help to solve half of the problem. Furthermore, many organizations including industries, factories which are based on recycling should be recognized by the government. If this approach is implemented in the nation then people will recycle as much as they can.

In conclusion, recycling is the one of the best method to prevent many obstacles in future so, in order to encourage people to recycle the government should play a vitol role. The more we recycle the more we get benifited.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation regarding 'lack of knowledge' is repetitive, and the suggestion to 'recognize' organizations is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on how government recognition would practically lead to increased recycling. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher score. Ensure that each paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' of your points rather than stating them in general terms.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Thus', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'due to this many members of society are still lacing to recycle'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision expected at higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'oganizations', 'lacing' (likely meant 'lacking'), 'vitol', and 'benifited'. Additionally, some word choices are imprecise, such as 'waste rubbish' and 'obstacles in future'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensure accurate spelling of common academic terms. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terminology related to environmental policy would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the waste rubbish has increased due to fact the people have been involved', 'there are various factors and method', and 'the one of the best method'. These errors, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement and article usage, occur throughout the text. While they do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure will help improve your score.
