Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes in many countries people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could. And i think it is true. And for change this first we change our mind.
In many countries people do not recycle their rubbish like Pakistan,India and many other countries.Their countries people throw rubbish on the road on the streets and everywhere. And their government don’t making strict rules about this. That’s why people don’t think about that and now this is the normal habit of the people. If the government makes strict rules and put dustbin everywhere in the grounds on the roads in the street and ast people strictly to throw rubbish into the dustbin and make fine who’s don’t use dustbin and throw rubbish on the roads.
And i think about this when the children goes school first time in the life.So the main base of children is making in school and home also.So the parents teach the children to rubbish into the dustbin not everywhere and also in the school the teachers teach the students not throwing the rubbish everywhere and if any student trow rubbish so teachers making punish.
And for changing this bad have first parents teach the children and in the school and then the government put cameras everywhere and also put dustbin everywhere and then strictly give order to the people not to throw rubbish everywhere and if anyone again doing this so making him fine.If government taking stand to i sure everyone doing this and then our countries is clean and every country making this rules.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development is limited. The ideas regarding government intervention and education are relevant but are presented in a repetitive and simplistic manner. The essay lacks a clear, formal structure, and the arguments are not fully extended or supported with sophisticated reasoning. While the prompt is addressed, the lack of depth and the reliance on basic, repetitive points prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should aim to provide more nuanced explanations and concrete examples that go beyond general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'And' to start sentences. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between ideas feels disjointed. There is a lack of variety in linking words, which makes the text feel like a list of points rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, focus on using a wider range of transition signals (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in addition') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. Words like 'rubbish', 'people', 'everywhere', and 'things' are used frequently. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'make fine' instead of 'impose fines' and 'making punish' instead of 'punishing'. The range is insufficient for a higher band, as the language does not demonstrate an awareness of style or precision. To improve, you should expand your vocabulary to include more academic and topic-specific terms related to environmental issues and policy-making.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government don’t making'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and the use of complex structures is largely absent or incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly regarding the use of commas and full stops. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of verb tenses and modal verbs for suggestions.
