Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could because many countries around the world don't have information and technology about recycling as other countries and this trend is much shown in developing and economically weak countries where population is more than land and people don't have awareness regarding recycling.for example one of the country is pakistan where population is high and people don't have much awareness about recycling so they just throw things after using it because they have no idea that they can recycle this product to reuse it. To solve this problem what a country can do is, awareness first and foremost. teach the population about recycling from school to advertisment from televison so every generation know about this encourage people for recycling and put some benifits in recycling so people get motivation in doing recycling. put recycling machines in every place possible in country so people don't find it difficult to look for recycling bin. goverment can make some rules regarding this that if anybody throw plastic or cans on roads or anyother place rather than recycling bin can be fine upto some money can also help to make people follow the recycling procedure. This all chanes in country can chane the future of country in recycling and it will benifit the country and people eceomically and sustainability wise stronger in near future and this practice can help the nature also from destroying for our needs

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development is limited. The ideas, such as lack of awareness and infrastructure, are mentioned but not fully extended. The example of Pakistan is relevant but brief. Furthermore, the response is 245 words, which is below the 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length impacts the depth of the argument, as the ideas remain somewhat superficial. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or additional examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. It is presented as a single block of text, which is a significant weakness in terms of structure. While there is a logical flow from the problem to the solution, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical (e.g., 'for example', 'to solve this problem'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of sentence variety makes the text feel repetitive. To improve, you must use clear paragraph breaks to separate your introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, and use a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'people', and 'country'. There are also several spelling errors (e.g., 'advertisment', 'televison', 'benifits', 'eceomically') and word-choice issues, such as 'nature also from destroying'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the frequent spelling mistakes limit the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to the environment and sustainability, and proofread your work to correct basic spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is characterized by a limited range of structures, mostly consisting of simple or compound sentences. There are frequent errors in punctuation, such as missing capital letters at the start of sentences and a lack of commas to separate clauses. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also inconsistent (e.g., 'one of the country is pakistan', 'the future of country'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, punctuation, and the correct use of articles and plurals.
