Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both parts of the prompt—reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions—the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or examples. The points regarding 'busy lifestyles' and 'lack of facilities' are mentioned but not expanded upon. Furthermore, the conclusion is abrupt and introduces 'senior citizens' as a solution, which was not discussed in the body paragraphs. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure your conclusion reflects the points already made.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical. While some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are occasionally repetitive or used in a way that feels forced. The final sentence of the second paragraph is incomplete ('People has no fear of laws and regulations about'), which disrupts the flow of the argument. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas are linked more naturally using a wider variety of transition words and referencing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'very important', 'very hectic', and 'provide more number of' are simplistic and lack the precision expected at higher bands. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'spread rubbish' (which implies scattering trash rather than managing it) and 'low facilities'. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues, such as 'waste management', 'infrastructure', 'sustainability', and 'public awareness campaigns'. Using more precise verbs and adjectives will help convey your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'One of the main reason is' (should be 'reasons') and 'People has' (should be 'People have'). Additionally, there are sentence fragments and incomplete thoughts, such as 'However, the remaining ones, should be punished and fined, in order to taught them a lesson' (should be 'teach'). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, practice using complex sentence structures with correct subordinating conjunctions and focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb and tense consistency.
