Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they can there would be many reasons for that and some are given below:
- Maybe there is not that much developed technologies that recycle the rubbish fully
- Maybe the companies who manufactures product are not using that raw materials which can be recycled 100% pr easily
- Maybe the citizens are not aware about the recycling.
- Maybe there are no byfergations in dustbins regarding recyclable product and non recyclable product.
- Maybe the citizens are not taking it seriously.
- Maybe the government is lacking somewhere to make citizens and manufacturing units to abide by laws.
Solutions:
- There should be strict rules made by government to keep the rubbish as per recyclable and non recyclable and not to mix it.
- The companies should use raw materials which is easy to be recycled.
- The citizens should understand regarding recycling.
- There should be less use of plastics as it is non-biodegradable.
- There should be some act regarding save environment.
- The awareness should be created among citizens regarding recycling products.
- The government should promote recyclable products.
- The person who pickup the rubbish should have knowledge regarding recycling.
- The advertisement should be made regarding recycling.
- The government should provide some subsidies and all so that the companies tend to use the recyclable raw materials to lower the cost.
Therefore, as per me by the above things we can change this.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt (reasons and solutions), but the format is highly problematic. By using a bulleted list instead of cohesive paragraphs, the ideas remain underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth required for an academic essay. While the points raised are relevant, they are presented as a list of brief statements rather than a structured argument. To achieve a higher band, you must expand these points into full, well-developed paragraphs that explain the 'why' and 'how' behind your suggestions, rather than simply listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a standard academic structure, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The use of bullet points creates a fragmented, list-like appearance that prevents the development of a logical flow or progression of ideas. There is a lack of cohesive devices (such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition') to link sentences together. The overall organisation is mechanical and does not meet the requirements for a formal essay, which significantly impacts the clarity and coherence of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrasing. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'byfergations' (bifurcations/separation) and 'manufactures' (manufacturers). The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use more sophisticated or topic-specific terminology related to environmental science or policy. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response consists primarily of simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('companies who manufactures', 'raw materials which is easy') and awkward phrasing ('as per me', 'there would be many reasons'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of bullet points instead of full sentences. The lack of complex sentence structures limits your ability to demonstrate grammatical range, and the persistent errors occasionally hinder the reader's understanding of your intended meaning.
