Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions—but the development is insufficient. The ideas, such as the mention of 'material resorting facilities' and 'velding recycled machines' (vending machines), are introduced but lack clear explanation or logical flow. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the depth of the argument. The conclusion is abrupt and does not effectively summarize the main points. To improve, you must expand on your ideas with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for a fully developed response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', they are not always used correctly or effectively to link ideas. The sentences within paragraphs often feel disjointed, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the transition between the mention of countries and the description of MRFs. The lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which hinders the clarity of your message. Phrases like 'resorting industries' (likely meaning recycling or sorting facilities) and 'velding recycled machines' (vending machines) indicate a lack of precision. There is also repetitive use of basic words like 'rubbish' and 'trash'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to environmental issues and recycling processes. Expanding your vocabulary to include collocations and more sophisticated synonyms will help you express your ideas more clearly and effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Government of different countries take initiative'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'In many countries not have these types of machines'). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of articles and prepositions.
