Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern world, certain individuals hold a view that in most of the nations, individuals do not prefer recycling process for their waste materials as much as required. I am going to illustrate few reasons and method to tackle this issue in upcoming paragraphs with a logical conclusion.

Analyzing the primary reason why people do not recycle their trash as much as they could because it is very time taking task. To be more precise, Nowadays, most of the population have busy schedule which makes their day quite hectic and after getting too much tired from work they do not prefer to do recycling process as it have many steps involved and take about 2-3 hours in a day. Moreover, locals are now more interested in online activities rather than doing activities like recycling of rubbish materials. Individuals prefer to buy new items over devoting their time in later process.

However, the problem of not recycle their wastage can be tackle by effective and efficient efforts of governments and locals. One of the predominant solution is organisation of camps in school and colleges to provide information about the positive impacts of recycling process. Another way is to introduce law regarding recycling process so that people become more aware and give their contribution in environmental safety. Moreover, academic places should give practical knowledge about it so that students develop their interest towards recycle the trash.

I pen down by saying that consumption of time and craze of online activities are few reason why humansd not recycle their waste. However this issue can be solved by effective efforts of government by organizing camps in schools and colleges. Moreover, school also play crucial role in it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The claim that recycling takes '2-3 hours in a day' is an exaggeration that weakens the argument's credibility. While the solutions (educational camps and legislation) are relevant, they are described in a general manner without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced explanations and ensure that your supporting points are realistic and logically sound. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the response is restricted by the lack of detailed analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'To be more precise' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the reasons for not recycling and the proposed solutions is abrupt. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring a more natural flow between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'time taking task' (which should be 'time-consuming') and 'do not prefer to do'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'later process' and 'humansd' (a typo). While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'environmental safety' and 'waste materials', the range is limited. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary rather than repeating simple terms. Expanding your range of synonyms and avoiding informal phrasing will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'Analyzing the primary reason... because it is' (a sentence fragment), 'problem of not recycle' (should be 'recycling'), and 'humansd not recycle'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors, particularly verb forms and sentence structure, to ensure your writing is more accurate and professional.
