Student answer (Band 5.5)

Throwing littre and do not recycle it, is a highly contentious issue all over the world.I believe that it is lack of knowledge and not having access to modern machinary that is used in such process.I will discuss both views in this eassy.

On one hand,I presume people do not have resources to recycle their rubbish as it is mostly done in factories.Social workers, for example, collect rubbish from homes and they bring it to industries and recycle it there. However, indegenous people do not have such resources through which littre is recycled. Also, there is lack of information related to recycling things among people, they just throw it in dustbin without taking into account environmental problems and globalization.

As far as solution is concerned, i believe that authorities should take step to educate people about recycling process. They could inform people through different paltforms such as social media and newspapers. It will bring awareness among locals and in this way, they can protect their environment. It can also damage ecosystem of plants and animals.Globalization is the major cause that happen in case , if rubbish is not recycled.Another strategy is removal of plastic bottles and bags which cause pollution and bring disaster.

In my opinion, government should take step to bring awareness among people about recycling, it will be beneficial for both environment and ecosystem. This process will also alleviate bad factors of air pollution and water pollution. For instance , visitors often leave their stuff on beaches that demolishes ocean's beauty and also mitigate creatures such as whales and sea birds.

In conclusion, people should recyle their rubbish as much as they can because it will provide them clean environment. It is only possible if authorities make strategies to educate people about recycling things. It will overcome environmental problems and decimation of ecosystem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The explanation regarding 'indigenous people' and 'globalization' is somewhat unclear and lacks logical connection to the core issue of recycling habits. While the position is clear, some arguments, such as the mention of 'globalization' as a cause for not recycling, are not fully explained or relevant. The solutions provided, such as education and banning plastic, are relevant but could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. Overall, the response covers the requirements but lacks the depth and clarity expected at higher levels.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'As far as solution is concerned' or the repetitive use of 'it will'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between 'globalization' and recycling is not well-established. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow between sentences could be improved with more varied linking words and better logical connectors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'littre' (litter), 'machinary' (machinery), 'eassy' (essay), 'indegenous' (indigenous), and 'paltforms' (platforms). Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'mitigate creatures' instead of 'harm' or 'endanger'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'ecosystem' and 'alleviate', the frequent spelling mistakes and occasional misuse of words limit the score. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and using collocations more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('the' ecosystem), incorrect verb forms ('that happen in case'), and punctuation issues (spacing after commas). For example, 'Throwing littre and do not recycle it, is a highly contentious issue' contains a subject-verb agreement error and awkward phrasing. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading and basic sentence structure is required.
