Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for low recycling rates and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation regarding 'busy lifestyles' is brief and lacks specific examples or depth. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall development of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples to ensure a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'To the conclusions'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'moreover' and 'additionally', they are not always used to create a smooth progression of ideas. Improving the variety and precision of your linking phrases will help create a more cohesive and professional argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive, with some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'masses' is used inappropriately to mean 'people', and 'harmfull thing' is imprecise. There are also spelling errors such as 'polythens' and 'bussy'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to convey ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to the environment and recycling, and ensure you use words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people does not think', 'issues are create') and incorrect sentence structures ('population should to take control'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors often distract the reader. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
