Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why people do not recycle as much as they could and suggesting measures to change this. The student outlines reasons such as lack of awareness, inconvenience, and absence of government incentives or policies, while proposing solutions like public awareness campaigns and improved infrastructure. However, the ideas are somewhat undeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the example provided ('in the pakistan most household collect all garbage in one bag') is overly simplistic and relies on generalisations. While all parts of the prompt are covered, the development remains basic, which places this response comfortably in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range. Because the ideas are relevant but lack detailed support, a Band 6.0 is appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a brief conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor cohesive devices and mechanical transitions (e.g., 'There are many several reason firstly', 'The Third Lack of goverment politics', 'To Begin'). Paragraphing is attempted, but sentence boundaries are often blurred due to punctuation errors, leading to run-on sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall arrangement feels disjointed. While the essay has a recognisable structure, the faulty mechanics of cohesion and referencing limit the score to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede understanding. Examples include 'enviormentel awreness' (environmental awareness), 'recyling' (recycling), 'sugguest' (suggest), 'factroy' (factor), 'inconvience' (inconvenience), and 'neghrbours' (neighbours). There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'incentives' and 'infrastructure', but these are undermined by severe spelling inaccuracies and awkward collocations (e.g., 'goverment politics'). The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, but the high density of errors places it firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. There are pervasive errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and article usage throughout the text (e.g., 'the rate of recyling household waste of low', 'People find it easiear and throw rather then making an extra effort', 'countries wheresb recyling or rewarded is not modetry people people have little motivation'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing periods and commas leading to fragmented thoughts and run-on structures. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader, matching the descriptors for Band 4.0.
