In many countries, people do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The problem of not recycling rubbish is among the prominent issues of the modern world. From my perspective, people should recycle their trash as much as they can, because it will lead to reducing the hazardous consequences of its deposition on the environment.
The primary reason to support this initiative is that recycling of waste plays a vital role in reducing the emergence of pollutants in the ecosystem. A low recycling rate will lead to the concern of contaminants in the ecosystem which could lead to the increase in the level of pollution. Followed by causing various severe illnesses including hepatitis and lung carcinoma. In fact, studies have observed a sharp decline in food-borne and water-borne diseases in countries that have implemented trash recycling rules and regulations.
The second motive to favor this narrative is that recycling will also lead to the development of more local products which will be beneficial for the country's economy as well. Additionally, people can utilize recycled output material to synthesize new plastic bottles, shirts, and other essential equipment, at low cost.
To enhance the rate of recycling, regulatory authorities should introduce laws and plans to attract people more towards recycling their rubbish. The Government can install recycling plants at every street corner which will also assist the people and reduce the commuting cost. In addition to this, companies should encourage their production units to increase the use of the recycled materials. The majority of the countries that have focused on the use of recycled ash as input material hadveexperienced more profit with almost a similar quality products. Although, recycled inputs have some drawbacks regarding the quality of products, their eco-friendly nature has outweighed them.
Overall, trash recycling is essential for maintaining the health of the environment. As far as i am concerned, major issues related to healthcare have arisen due to the contamination and low recycling rate. However, recycled inputs are not as good as natural material but that can be ignored while considering the benefits of recycled raw materials.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response effectively addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could (such as lack of infrastructure and awareness) and suggesting practical solutions (such as installing recycling plants and enacting stricter regulations). The student takes a clear position and supports ideas with relevant arguments regarding health benefits, environmental protection, and economic advantages. However, the first body paragraph contains a slight digression into the general dangers of pollution rather than strictly focusing on why people fail to recycle. Overall, the ideas are sufficiently extended and well-developed, aligning closely with the Band 7 requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear logical organization with an introduction, distinct body paragraphs exploring separate themes, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices are used adequately to connect ideas, such as "The primary reason to support this initiative is" and "Additionally." Paragraphing is utilized appropriately to separate the causes from the solutions. However, some cohesive links feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, and referencing in places (such as "their eco-friendly nature has outweighed them" where "them" awkwardly refers to drawbacks) slightly disrupts the smooth flow of information. Progression is clear throughout, placing this securely in the Band 7 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate to good range of vocabulary appropriate for an academic task, incorporating terms such as "hazardous consequences," "deposition," "contaminants," "lung carcinoma," and "regulatory authorities." There are attempts to use less common items with general success. However, there are minor lexical inaccuracies and awkward collocations, such as "favor this narrative" instead of "favor this view/argument," and a typographical error like "hadveexperienced." Despite these occasional slips, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly without impeding communication, fitting the Band 6.5 to 7 profile well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer showcases a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-like constructions ("Countries that have implemented...", "which will also assist..."). There is good control over punctuation overall. However, there are several grammatical errors and punctuation issues, such as fragment sentences ("Followed by causing various severe illnesses..."), lowercase "i" in the conclusion ("As far as i am concerned"), and minor tense or agreement slips ("hadveexperienced"). While these errors do not impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the grammar score from reaching a higher band.
