The prevelance of recycling wastage has emerged as a pressing concern in contemporary society. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people do not recycle as much as they could, and what can be done to change this. The student presents relevant ideas, such as a lack of awareness, a shortage of facilities (e.g., mentioning India), and laziness, followed by solutions like government regulations, fines, rewards, and educational campaigns. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally hindered by unclear phrasing, such as 'many inhabitants do not aware how waste is harmful'. While the position is clear and all parts of the prompt are covered, the lack of depth and some underdeveloped arguments place this response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear division into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'In order ot address this escalating problems ,multi- pronged approach is required,The primary responsibility lies with government they ought to...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal sentence linking frequently breaks down due to punctuation errors and missing articles. Therefore, the progression of ideas is occasionally disrupted, justifying a Band 5.5 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary society', 'phenomenon', 'multifaceted', and 'escalating problems'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'prevelance' (prevalence), 'phenonmenon' (phenomenon), 'awarness' (awareness), 'ot' (to), and 'garbge' (garbage). Furthermore, collocation and lexical chunks are frequently inaccurate, such as 'lack of awarenes due to the fact that many inhabitants do not aware'. The vocabulary is adequate to convey the basic message, but the persistent lexical and spelling errors limit the score to a 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response includes a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional-like structures ('so even if they want ot recycle, they cannot do anything'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing auxiliary verbs ('do not aware'), incorrect prepositions, punctuation splices ('required,The primary'), and subject-verb agreement issues ('these issue can be effectively dealt'). These errors frequently distract the reader, although communication is generally maintained. The control of grammar is inconsistent, aligning with the descriptors for Band 5.0.
