Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many country, people believe that rubbish items are not worth of recycling and they do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could because they think that it is unhygenic and beyond their nobility to reuse the same item again.
In these days people do not recycle old items as much as they could because of various reasons like hygiene, emotional vaule, traditional belief, and other reason could be laziness as they think throwing could be easy rather then recycling them. Moreover, they do not want to reuse the old items as they think that it is beyond their standards and reputation. In my point of view, this is a very bad situation for the environment as well because people refuse to recycle the rubbish item as a result the the pollution is increasing rapidly day by day which can cause a lot of diseases and unwanted damages to the living people, animals and the nature too.
Furthermore, this problem should be prevented in a early stage as it can grow bigger and cause a huge disturbance in the coming days. People should establish a habbit of recycling their rubbish items into useful things which they can be utilize in the future. Additionally, the trend of recycling the item should be establish for the betterment of the upcoming generation. Recycling old items can be a great help for the needy as they are under priviledge to afford some basic items. Recycled items can be very useful to them as they can utilize to fulfill their needs as a result they can have some little comfort in their life.
At last, i think that recycling old items can have a positive effect on the living as well as the nature however to make this possible all the people should participate in this journey to make the surrounding better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could, such as hygiene, laziness, and social status, and suggesting solutions like educating people and establishing habits. However, the development of ideas lacks depth and relies on over-generalizations. For instance, the claim that people view recycling as 'beyond their nobility' or unhygienic is stated without strong supporting examples from general knowledge. While the writer's position is generally clear throughout the text, the arguments remain somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the benefits of recycling for the needy. Therefore, the task is addressed adequately, but the ideas require more thorough extension and support to reach a higher band level, placing it solidly in the Band 6 category.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body, and concluding paragraphs. However, logical progression is frequently hindered by repetitive phrasing and some awkward transitions. While basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Additionally' are used, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun use ('they can utilize', 'this problem should be prevented'). Paragraphing is present, but the internal organization of ideas within paragraphs feels somewhat cluttered, making the flow less seamless. Consequently, cohesion can occasionally feel mechanical rather than natural, fitting the descriptors for a Band 5.5 to 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'unhygienic', 'reputation', and 'under priviledge'. However, there are notable limitations and word-choice errors that detract from precision, such as 'In many country' (singular instead of plural), 'worth of recycling', 'emotional vaule', and spelling errors like 'habbit' and 'priviledge'. While communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of lexical inaccuracies and awkward collocations limits the score to Band 5.5, as the vocabulary control lacks the flexibility and accuracy required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is a significant weakness throughout the response. There are frequent basic errors, including singular/plural agreement ('In many country', 'rubbish item'), incorrect prepositions, and run-on sentences with poor punctuation (e.g., the long opening sentence in the second paragraph). While the meaning is generally understandable despite these errors, the high frequency of grammatical slips means that error-free sentences are not in the majority, which prevents the essay from achieving a Band 6. Therefore, a Band 5.0 is appropriate based on the current level of grammatical control.
