Student answer (Band 4.5)
Due to increase in population, many countries faces problems of recycling rubbish as per lack of knowledge they are not able to reclye most of the rubbish they can.
I think this problem should be resolved as fast as possible because this can lead to harmfull diseases which can be faced by people of the country due to living in unhygenic place. If people will recycle the rubbish then there will be more employment opportunities for people who are involved in recyling process.
There can be several steps taken by Authority and local people to make changes in recyling, as government can establish different law like we should keep kitcken garbage seperate and house hold different which will be eassy for workers and we can take m,any usefull uses from it like kitcken waste can be use in making fertilisers and compost from it. Government should also put fine system which will encorage people to follow rules and regulation. People can run speehes in ther town to give knowledge related to recycling methods and benefits of it .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, identifying lack of knowledge and population increase as causes, and suggesting government laws and public awareness campaigns as solutions. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples. Furthermore, the text falls significantly short of the 250-word minimum requirement, containing only 178 words. This has a direct negative impact on the task achievement score, as the prompt's requirements cannot be fully satisfied within this length. To improve, the writer must expand on their arguments with concrete explanations and fully develop each main point to meet the word count.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response shows some basic organization, separating the introduction, effects, and solutions into different paragraphs. However, the progression of ideas is disjointed and lacks clear overall coherence. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as using 'Due to increase in population' and 'If people will recycle'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the ideas within paragraphs are abrupt and lack smooth transitions. For example, moving from health risks directly to employment opportunities without a clear transitional link disrupts the flow. To improve, the student needs to use a wider range of linking words and ensure each paragraph has a clear thematic focus supported by logical transitions.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'reclye', 'harmfull', 'unhygenic', 'kitcken', 'seperate', 'house hold', 'eassy', 'm,any', 'usefull', and 'speehes'. The student attempts some topic-related vocabulary like 'employment opportunities', 'fertilisers', and 'compost', but overall the lexical range is limited and inadequate for a higher band. Word choice and collocation are frequently awkward, such as 'take many useful uses from it'. To reach a higher score, the student must expand their vocabulary range, learn correct spellings of common academic terms, and practise using words in appropriate collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. The sentences are largely simple or poorly constructed complex forms that contain frequent errors. Examples include 'many countries faces problems', 'due to living in unhygenic place', and 'Government should also put fine system'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capitalisation and commas in inappropriate places. These frequent grammatical and mechanical errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader, although the core message can generally be deciphered. To improve, the student should focus on basic subject-verb agreement, accurate use of articles, and forming grammatically correct complex sentences.
