Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, exploring reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could and offering solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear. For instance, the reasons provided—such as employees in companies like Tata Consultancy Services not having time—are repetitive and lack sufficient generalisation or depth. The solutions suggested, such as 'swatcha bharath vechiles' or the example of the Tirupati temple giving out seeds, are specific and somewhat tangential rather than addressing systemic recycling infrastructure in a fully developed manner. The position is discernible, but the overall development falls short of Band 6 requirements, aligning more closely with Band 5 as ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward referencing and a lack of cohesive control. For example, transitional phrases like 'That's why they do not thinking' and 'One possible solution is that, many countries government should gave benefits' feel mechanical and inaccurate. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph merely restates the essay's existence ('This essay have both possible and solutions') rather than providing a cohesive summary. Referencing pronouns are often unclear, making it difficult to follow the flow of arguments. These features place the response firmly at Band 4, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
Vocabulary is basic and repetitive throughout the essay. The writer frequently relies on simple words like 'people', 'rubbish', 'things', and 'problems'. There are numerous word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'recyle' for recycle, 'wastage' for waste, 'vechiles' for vehicles, and 'eassy' for essay. Less common lexical items are attempted ('congestion', 'infrastructure'), but they are either used incorrectly or lack precision in context. Due to the frequent errors in spelling and word formation that occasionally strain the reader, the lexical resource is characteristic of a Band 4 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex structures. There are persistent and severe grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people do not recyle the rubbish is a common issue', 'countries government should gave'), incorrect verb tenses ('they busy in works', 'the temple gaves laddu'), and missing articles. Many sentences contain multiple errors that impede clear communication, such as 'those u don't knwo about these please see the sites.' These frequent errors and the lack of a reliable structure place the grammar at a Band 4 level.
