Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the task: why people do not recycle as much as they could, and what can be done to change this. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes obscured by unclear phrasing and tangential filler, such as 'Moreover, this can also contribute to the overall development of society.' The reasons given regarding people being too busy and lacking awareness are understandable, but the supporting examples are weak and lack specific detail. The suggestions for the government, such as using news channels and newspapers, are relevant, but the overall progression of argument lacks depth. Therefore, this performance aligns with the Band 5 descriptors, as the task is addressed only partially and ideas remain somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is divided into paragraphs, but the organization and progression of ideas lack clarity. While basic cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' are used, referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical thread of the argument. For instance, sentences like 'This is because it has a significant impacts on people daily lives' fail to connect logically to the preceding statement. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas within paragraphs is disjointed, and the concluding paragraph is far too brief and grammatically fractured to effectively synthesize the essay. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5 category for cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like 'people', 'issues', 'things', and 'activities'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'reprocess their waste', 'become more aware these kind of activities', 'sell out on shops', and 'achieve hight results'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'significant impacts' and 'modern world', inaccuracies in word choice and spelling ('thier', 'awarness', 'initiate' used as a noun) cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band. This represents a typical Band 5 lexical profile.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent, major grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('government should provide a lots', 'government take these kind of initiate'), incorrect prepositions, and severely malformed sentence structures, especially in the conclusion: 'both how we recycle the waste and how face these types of problems and how become solve it.' Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also handled poorly in places, resulting in run-on constructions or fragmented thoughts. Because errors are frequent and occasionally impede communication, a Band 4.0 is appropriate here.
