Student answer (Band 5.5)
In various nations, individuals fail the recycle their trash as much as they could. The primary reason for this can be the lack of time and convenience it requires to recycle their rubbish. By developing a convinent system people can use to recycle their rubbish can help reduce this issue.
The large proportion of popullation is tackling with hectic lifestyle where they have no time left which makes it challenging for them to spare time for recycling. Additionally, numerous responsible citizens of society are willing to recycle. However, it's not very convienient for them to recycle their rubbish more than they are already doing. For instance, in most of the underprivilegded countries like pakistan there is near no way of recycling the rubbish which makes it utterly impractical.
To address this challenge the reponsible athorities should come toghether and implement a convienient recycling system for people. Surely if they develop a pragmatic system by installing recycling machines at different locations. This particular concept can make it easier for individuals to recycle their trash as much as they possibly can. Although this idea is already in practice by developed countries such as china and japan. For the reference, the administration have installed recycling machines in malls and various locations and people bring their plastic bottles and cans to recycle in exchange of some penies which encourges them to recycle most of their rubbish.
In conclusion, modern lifestyle where individuals have to face varying challenges which leave them minimal time and recycling being less convienient makes it harder for them to recycle at their best. Nevertheless developing a convienient system can make things easier for them which will encourage them to recycle most than they used to.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people fail to recycle (lack of time and convenience) and what can be done to change this (implementing accessible recycling systems and machines). The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of machines in China and Japan where people bring plastic bottles for rewards. However, some of the supporting explanations are slightly repetitive and under-developed in terms of breadth. For instance, the reference to Pakistan is brief and functions more as an assertion than a fully elaborated example. The task is adequately fulfilled overall, meeting the criteria for Band 6.5 or a solid Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is divided into a logical four-paragraph structure comprising an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Progression is visible overall, though some cohesive devices and transitions are faulty or mechanical. For example, starting sentences with 'Surely if they develop...' or 'For the reference...' creates awkward transitions and impacts the flow of ideas. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'This particular concept' or 'the administration have'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, but the internal cohesion requires better control to reach higher bands, aligning this performance with Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for the task, including terms like 'underprivileged', 'pragmatic', and 'administration'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the essay, such as 'convinent' instead of convenient, 'popullation' instead of population, 'reponsible' instead of responsible, 'toghether' instead of together, and 'penies' instead of pennies. These spelling mistakes, along with occasional word choice inaccuracies (e.g., 'fail the recycle'), detract from the lexical quality. While the vocabulary is adequate to communicate the main ideas, the frequent spelling slips keep the score at Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, such as sentence fragments and run-on structures (e.g., 'By developing a convinent system people can use to recycle their rubbish can help reduce this issue' features a double subject/verb issue). Punctuation and article usage also show frequent lapses, such as missing commas or incorrect prepositions. These errors sometimes cause slight hesitation for the reader, though they do not completely impede overall communication, placing the grammar firmly at a Band 5.5.
