Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era many countries people are not recycling their waste as much as they can do, and this is a big concern going all over the world. This essay will dicuss the reason behind the lack of civic participation, which include public inconvenience and insufficient education, before proposing viable strategies.
Talking about the reasons, people are not taking it very serious because they are not knowing about that it is important to seprate the rubbish into different categories and it very easy to be done by anyone alone. But then also they seen it very diffcult. For example; a survey in Russia states that in the country people are prefering not to divied the rubbish because they think it very diffcult, and in Moscow, in some of the regions their plenty of the recycling machines are there to put in it.
Speaking about the solution, cities’ administration should add more opportunities for the correct utilization. For instance, for the last ,year the number of posters in the Moscow Subway illustrating ecological problems has grown. Now you can see them on almost every train next to the doors. Furthermore, the private company “RusEco” added special stands for different types of waste material in remote neighbourhoods of Moscow.
In conclusion, many of the citizen are not taking care of the enviornment due to the unawareness of the policy and, also lack of the recycling machine in ther country. This problem can be fixed with help of the government sreading information and spending more on the infrastructure of eco-activitst.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing the reasons why people do not recycle, such as inconvenience and lack of education, and proposes solutions like government infrastructure and awareness campaigns. The position is generally clear throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack deep development or specific evidence. For instance, the reference to a survey in Russia is vague and unsupported by clear details, and the explanation of why people perceive recycling as difficult remains superficial. The essay meets all the prompt requirements, but the extension of ideas corresponds to a Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, following a logical structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'Talking about the reasons', 'For example', and 'Speaking about the solution'. However, referencing and transitions are at times awkward or mechanical, such as 'For instance, for the last ,year' and the choppy sentence structures in the second body paragraph. Paragraphing is adequate, but the overall progression of ideas feels slightly disjointed due to grammatical friction and awkward phrasing. This performance is consistent with the Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, touching on relevant themes such as 'civic participation', 'ecological problems', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are frequent word-choice errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'dicuss' instead of discuss, 'seprate' instead of separate, 'divied' instead of divide, 'enviornment' instead of environment, and 'sreading' instead of spreading. The student attempts less common lexical items, but the high density of spelling and collocation errors limits the range and occasionally impedes understanding. These characteristics reflect a Band 5.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'people are not taking it very serious', 'they are not knowing about that it is important', and 'their plenty of the recycling machines are there'. Punctuation is also faulty in places, notably the comma placement in 'for the last ,year'. Complex structures often contain errors that cause difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar with a Band 5.0 descriptor.
