Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, people do not recycle their rubbish in their households as much as they could because of lack of knowledge. This happens due to the lack of awearness of recycling things that people throw in the trash.
One of the major reason of this problem is lack of knowledge. People throw plastics, papers, cans, and more recyclable things without any hesitation into bins. We can overcome this problem buy performing seminars and special classes on the awearness of the recycling. One more thing that will impact the recycling is installing separate bins on the residential areas. This will allow people of the residence to through recyclable things in a separate bin. Governments and educational institutions should work on this so we can have least effect on the envirnoment. Government should do a proper campaign about recycling, for example clear information about glass, plastic and steel could incourage households to change their habits. Moreover, management should collect these recyclable materials for their recycling regularly. Financial incentives, should give some money in mean of a reward that will built spirit in people of households.
In conclusion, people actually do not care about recycling but there are several ways of awearness. We can built separate bins for recyclable materials and we can do saminars, classes as an educational propose of recyclin. This thing will protect our envirnoment and will cause less pollution in the atmosphere. Otherwise, if we do not takes any steps, our envirnoment will get harsh, polluted and face more climate changes in upcoming years.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by identifying reasons why people do not recycle, such as a lack of knowledge and awareness, and suggests solutions like educational seminars, separate residential bins, and government campaigns. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion on financial incentives is underdeveloped and lacks clear explanation regarding how it would be practically implemented. Furthermore, the position is somewhat repetitive across the introduction and conclusion, which prevents the ideas from achieving full extension. To reach a higher level, every main idea requires thorough elaboration with concrete explanations or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, though some paragraphs bundle multiple distinct ideas together without smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on simple connectors like 'One of the major reason' and 'Moreover'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'This thing will protect our envirnoment'. To improve, the writer needs to employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph focuses clearly on a single, well-linked central topic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items related to the topic such as 'residential areas', 'educational institutions', and 'financial incentives'. However, there are notable spelling errors throughout the text, including 'awearness', 'envirnoment', 'incourage', and 'saminars'. Word choice and collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'buy performing seminars' instead of 'by hosting seminars', and 'mean of a reward' instead of 'form of a reward'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips require some effort from the reader to decode, characteristic of this level. Expanding lexical precision and mastering standard spelling will greatly enhance this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'Governments and educational institutions should work on this so we can have least effect on the envirnoment.' There are several grammar errors present, including preposition and article issues like 'in mean of a reward' and 'on the residential areas', as well as subject-verb agreement and structural slips such as 'One of the major reason' and 'if we do not takes any steps'. While punctuation is generally functional, errors in grammar do occur with some regularity, though they rarely impede overall communication. To progress further, the writer must increase control over complex sentence structures and eliminate frequent minor errors in basic syntax and prepositions.
