Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the current society, people are much concerned in regard to that individuals do not resource recovery of waste in enough amount which can be done to extent level. This situation has become the burning issue. Before spreading, effective action should be taken to over the problem. This essay will enunciate reasons associated with problems along with some remedial measures in subsequent paragraphs.
To initiate with the reasons which ignite the spark to make the situation worse, the topmost reason is lack of awareness. Less knowledgle in context to recycling degraded living standards through disruptive technology. Declining in circular economy is liable to exacerbate the pollution level which has already given a huge setback to the people's lives which will take many years to rejuvenate. A survey conducted in the United States had its findings published in a renowned journal that those countries are less reliable on recycling, has higher ecological degradation as compared to the countries believe in recycling. Hence, this is the reason making it more problematic to environment.
Furthermore, despite of having free time, people does not want to involve themselves in this activity of recycling. They think that they are paying taxes to regime so it's government responsibility to resource recovery of waste products. For instance, people have been disposing waste to yamuna river for last many years in Delhi rather than taking care of it. Nobody wanted to take the responsibility to recycle the waste products that can be used again. Therefore, huge quantity of waste flown with river which even contaminated the water.
As it is widely accepted, prevention is better than cure so in the same way handful of measures should also be established to curb over the menace through various sources. It can be overcome through providing education to people regarding recycling of waste products. In addition to that, government should impose stricter penalties on those who would be cuaght red handed that throwing waste somewhere else. This is crucial for the welfare and progress of society.
Pondering over the topic, I would like to opine that government alone cannot solve this problem, efforts of masses also require. It is only then our society can become a better place to live in.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the reasons behind a lack of recycling and outlining viable solutions to change this behavior. The position is clear throughout the essay. The ideas presented, such as the lack of public awareness and the reliance on government intervention, are relevant, though some are slightly under-developed or supported with vague generalisations rather than fully articulated explanations. For instance, the mention of disruptive technology and the circular economy in the second paragraph lacks clear integration with the core issue of rubbish recycling. However, the writer successfully meets the requirements for the current band by ensuring that both prompt questions receive adequate coverage, pointing towards the higher band through a clear attempt to extend ideas, while still leaving room for deeper elaboration and more precise real-world examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Each paragraph has a discernible focus, moving from general context to reasons, and finally to remedial measures. Cohesive devices are employed to structure the response, such as 'To initiate with', 'Furthermore', and 'As it is widely accepted', though some referencing is occasionally mechanical or clumsy, as seen in the transition 'Before spreading, effective action should be taken'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate distinct aspects of the prompt. To reach the next band level, the writer would need to ensure that cohesive relationships between sentences are smoother and less formulaic, avoiding slight awkwardness in referencing and creating a more seamless flow of information throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common and topic-specific items such as 'circular economy', 'ecological degradation', and 'rejuvenate'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form that reflect the current band level. Examples include 'resource recovery of waste in enough amount', 'less reliable on recycling', and 'cuaght red handed that throwing waste'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they highlight a restricted control over lexical precision and collocation. To progress to a higher band, the student must expand their repertoire of natural phrasing, ensure greater accuracy in word forms, and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of less common lexical items appropriate for academic writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures such as relative clauses and conditional-style constructions. However, the text contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, agreement, prepositions, and article usage. Examples of these errors include 'people are much concerned in regard to that individuals do not resource recovery', 'people does not want to involve themselves', 'waste flown with river', and 'effort of masses also require'. These persistent inaccuracies occasionally cause strain for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must exercise greater control over complex sentence patterns, ensure consistent subject-verb agreement, and significantly reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors across the entire response.
