Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many countries around the world are facing low number of participants recycling their garbage, this is because of poor infrasturcture and lack of awarness about recycling. But it can be fixed if government take initiatives to place recyclings bins to more accessable places and run educational campaigns to aware its citizens about recycling wastes.
Recycling bins creates stress among people about where they should dump a specific material like glass, plastic or other garbage and they ended up dumping wrong material into the wrong bin that one dumo destroys the purpose of whole bin, which cause frustration in both public and service providers. Other than that, most housing areas have one huge dumpster which is placed outside their houses and recycling bins are placed far away that cause laziness in citizens and they prefer to dump everything at once as it would save time and cause no stress on categorising the garbage.
This problem can effectively solved if government take few initiatives, firstly the humongous dumpster can be swaped by three different colored recyling bins, each color representes a specific material so their would be no confusion while dumping the trash. Secondaly an effective campaigns should be run by the government to create awarness about the recycling and to use specific bin for different type of trash. Lastly, financial initiatives like recycling cost can be more cheaper than using a dumpster, that would automatically attract citizen to use recycle bins.
In conclusion, most citizens avoid using recycle bins because they are placed so far from their reach but that can be fixed if govenment replace trash bins with recycling bins to give easy access to people and create awarness about saving the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the reasons why people fail to recycle and proposing practical solutions, which meets the core requirements. There is a clear position presented throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the discussion on how recycling bins create stress is introduced in the second paragraph, but the explanation remains slightly superficial and under-developed, showing characteristics of both solid task coverage and the limitations found at lower levels. The examples and reasons provided are relevant, such as mentioning infrastructure problems like distant dumpsters and proposing color-coded bins, yet they would benefit from further extension and deeper elaboration to achieve a higher standing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a conclusion. There is a logical progression of ideas from explaining the problems to offering remedies. However, the use of cohesive devices is at times mechanical or faulty, such as the heavy reliance on basic transition phrases and run-on structures between clauses without adequate punctuation, as seen in the opening sentence. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing could be managed more effectively to separate distinct ideas more cleanly, fulfilling the requirements of a coherent text while demonstrating some of the structural flaws typical of this band level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate the central message of the task, though the range is limited. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'infrastructure', 'humongous', and 'financial initiatives', but these attempts are accompanied by notable spelling errors like 'infrasturcture', 'awarness', 'accessable', 'dumo', 'swaped', 'recyling', 'representes', 'Secondaly', and 'govenment'. Word choices and collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'cause laziness in citizens' or 'recycling cost can be more cheaper'. These lexical errors and spelling mistakes do not entirely impede communication, allowing the reader to grasp the intended points, but they restrict the score due to a lack of precision and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and relative clauses. However, there is a lack of sustained control over grammatical accuracy. Frequent errors occur in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'if government take initiatives' instead of takes, 'bins creates stress', 'that one dumo destroys', 'this problem can effectively solved', and 'an effective campaigns should be run'. Punctuation errors are also prevalent, notably comma splices where independent clauses are incorrectly joined together with commas instead of full stops or conjunctions. These persistent errors impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
