Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the main parts of the prompt by identifying reasons why people fail to recycle, such as lack of awareness and government incentives, and suggests solutions like education and providing bins. However, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed, lacking specific examples or full elaboration. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 221 words instead of the required 250 words. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to expand on their points with more detailed explanations, provide concrete real-world examples, and ensure the word count requirement is fully satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text displays some overall organisation into paragraphs, but information and ideas are not arranged in a consistently coherent manner. The progression is hindered by very short, fragmented sentences and abrupt transitions, such as 'different people different thinks so, let us discuss sbhout it'. Cohesive devices are used minimally or inaccurately, and referencing is sometimes unclear, making the flow disjointed. To improve, the writer should use a wider and more accurate range of linking words and transitional phrases to connect ideas smoothly across sentences and paragraphs, and ensure each paragraph has a clear, logical central theme.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent word-choice errors, incorrect word forms, and spelling mistakes that occasionally strain the reader, such as 'beleive', 'counyries', 'scemes', 'compaigns', and 'satement'. The student attempts some less common terms like 'incentives' and 'awareness', but these are overshadowed by pervasive lexical inaccuracies. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to expand their range of vocabulary, pay closer attention to correct word forms and spelling, and use terms more naturally within appropriate collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammar demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent and severe errors in verb forms, tense usage, subject-verb agreement, and articles. Examples include 'people should aware for this', 'humans are does not take it serious', 'threw their rubbish', and 'government also take care about it'. Attempts at complex sentences are faulty and often distort meaning. To progress, the writer must focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb tense consistency, prepositional patterns, and sentence boundary punctuation, before attempting more complex structures.
