Student answer (Band 5.0)
In numerous countries, people are failed to recyled rubbish as they used. Let's do a quick analysis to find the reasons behind it.
In many countries, recycling is not well known term as compared to developing countries. In developing countries, people are not familiar with recyling process. However, many residents are being careless because they thought it just waste of time. They do not know about what are the consequences if we throw the waste without any process. In contrast, developed countries recyling machines are available to recyled the waste. Government set the policies and pay to the residents as reward. In developed countries, government focused on basic and earlier education in early age. Children did practical work rather than theory based. While in developing countries, have less budget so they did not spent on practical implementations. In the same way, developing countries have low economy that could not be enough for basic human survival. On the other hand, developed countries have more opportunities and high budget to support the individuals. They have high standard living that facillitates their economic. Similarly, developed lacked these resources. These people are focused more on food as comapre to education.
In my opinion, this can be replaceble through some implementations. Educate the people and tell them advantages of recyling. Government should set some policies like competition, that encourage the residents. Moreover provide them basic facilities that boost knowledge. Install recyling machines after some distance. This may be help in recyling process. Put rubbish in dissposible bags and throw it in mentioned place. These implementations can improved the recyling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could and offering potential solutions, such as education and government policies. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear. For instance, the distinction made between developed and developing countries is repetitive and overly generalized, stating that 'developing countries have low economy' without fully exploring the core reasons behind recycling habits. Some parts of the task are only partially addressed, leading to under-developed arguments that lack specific supporting examples. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to present fully developed ideas with clearer explanations and well-supported examples for both the causes of low recycling rates and the actionable solutions proposed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay presents some basic organization and attempts to divide the response into an introduction, body, and conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. The transition between sentences and paragraphs can feel abrupt, and cohesive devices are frequently inadequate or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'In many countries' and 'On the other hand'. Furthermore, referencing is not always clear, particularly when shifting between the concepts of developing and developed nations. Paragraphing is also somewhat problematic, with the second body paragraph containing a dense, unformatted block of mixed thoughts that hinders smooth progression. To achieve a higher band, the writer should ensure a logical sequence of ideas from start to finish, use a wider variety of accurate cohesive devices, and structure paragraphs around single, clear thematic ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, demonstrating basic word choices such as 'waste', 'money', and 'machines'. There are noticeable errors in word form, collocation, and spelling throughout the response, including phrases like 'recyled' instead of recycled, 'well known term' instead of a well-known concept, and 'replaceble' instead of replaceable. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips occur frequently and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader in grasping the exact meaning. To improve this criterion, the writer must expand their lexical range by incorporating less common vocabulary and idiomatic phrases, paying closer attention to correct word forms, word families, and accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences. When the writer attempts complex sentence forms, they are frequently faulty, leading to frequent grammatical errors. Examples of structural and grammatical issues include tense and agreement errors such as 'people are failed to recyled', missing articles like 'in early age' and 'high standard living', and awkward prepositions. These frequent errors in grammar and sentence patterns cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence structures and improve grammatical accuracy by carefully controlling verb forms, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositional patterns.
