Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many parts of world, the garbage is not properly recycled by individuals. This essay will examine the main reasons behind why this is happening from my point of view and what changes should be done to enhance recycling in society will discuss in detail.
There are several factors that can account for lack of recycling the significant reason is hectic routines that everyone follows by most of people in this advanced era. This is largely because of numerous duties that is done by singal person such as manging office work with daily house chores. Another contributing factor is lack of awareness and means of recyclin, which means people do not know about how to recycle the waste objects in standard way as well as there are no specilized machines installed for recycling in public areas. For example, in every society there are waste collecting drums are installed people through garbage in them when they are going for work or coming back from them if any advance system should be installed they can through rubbish into them and it can properly recycles instead of putting it into drum.
Turning to the second question, recycling can be achieved through number of effective measures. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the reasons why people fail to recycle and proposing practical solutions to change this behavior. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion regarding hectic routines and multiple daily duties is somewhat generalized and repeats similar points, such as mentioning waste drums multiple times without deeply exploring alternative structural barriers. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need to be more fully extended with more precise, detailed examples rather than relying on repetitive assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each part of the prompt, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in transitions like 'Turning to the second question' and the abrupt ending of the essay where the final sentence trails off incomplete. Referencing and logical progression are occasionally obscured by these mechanical links and awkward phrasing, preventing the flow from feeling completely natural and seamless throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate less common items such as 'hectic routines', 'contributing factor', and 'pivotal role'. However, there are noticeable limitations in lexical control, including word-choice and spelling errors that occasionally draw attention away from the content, such as 'sceduald' for scheduled, 'plateforms' for platforms, 'intriduced' for introduced, and 'singal' for single. While communication is not severely impaired, these persistent errors and a somewhat restricted variety of precise vocabulary keep the lexical standard at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly involving subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'numerous duties that is done', 'issues requires'), article usage, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Attempts at complex sentences often result in structural awkwardness, such as run-on constructions in the second body paragraph. Although these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the text from achieving a higher level of grammatical accuracy.
