Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some contend that, in numerous countries, public do not tend to recycle their trash as often as they possibly could. There could be several reasons or factors influencing this action and this must not be overlooked. I believe that local public are not fully accountable for this behaviour and i will explain my opinion further in the essay.
Recycling rubbish is a social responsibility for every citizen in every nation. It is mainly seen in developing countries or in rural areas that waste and trash are not being recycled adequately by people and the area are covered with dump everywhere leading to rise of numbers of diseases and environmental and social lackings. One of the main reason behind this action is the unawareness of the general populace, they are not educated properly regarding the necessity of recycling. Another reason behind this is that government and authorities do not provide people with basic means to recycle their rubbish. For example, in rural areas of Pakistan, simple trash bins are planted in various areas but there is not seperate bins for reclecling of various types of trash nor there is any awareness to the illiterate public.
So people mush not be solely held accountable for not recycling properly but lack of awareness and resources by higher-ups are equally responsible. So essential measurements in this regards are allocation of proper, seperate and labelled trash cans in every area. The citizens should be educated properly about the crucial responsibility which lies on them and its beneficial outcomes must also be delivered such as economic wellness and increase in revenues.
To conclude, it should be take into notice that accountability of this action lies on both public and authorities and it can be easily covered and managed if handled properly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you identify limited public awareness and inadequate recycling facilities as causes, then recommend labelled bins and public education. The Pakistan example makes the lack of separate bins concrete, and your position that responsibility is shared by citizens and authorities is clear by the conclusion. This meets the task well, though some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, you mention disease and environmental and social problems without showing how these follow from poor recycling, and the proposed economic benefits are not illustrated. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each cause and show how a specific measure would change people’s behaviour, while maintaining your clear position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph proposing measures, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from the problem to its causes and then to solutions, and linking phrases such as “Another reason” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening says local people are “not fully accountable,” but the relationship between that claim and the later discussion is not fully developed. The long sentence beginning “It is mainly seen…” also combines several effects without clear links. Use clearer topic sentences and divide complex points into shorter units; make references such as “this action” explicit so the reader can follow the argument more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “awareness,” “resources,” “authorities,” and “labelled trash cans,” and some choices communicate the main ideas effectively. There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “social responsibility” and “allocation.” However, inaccurate or unnatural word choices and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “the area are covered with dump,” “social lackings,” “measurements,” and “reclecling” are examples. Some repetition of “rubbish,” “trash,” and “action” also limits precision. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the consequences and practical measures would help you express the ideas with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the crucial responsibility which lies on them” and a contrastive structure in “not be solely held accountable…but…are equally responsible.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors remain across the response. Examples include “public do not tend,” “the area are covered,” “One of the main reason,” and “it should be take into notice,” which involve agreement, number, or verb-form problems. The long sentence beginning “It is mainly seen…” also makes relationships between clauses difficult to follow. Work on subject–verb agreement, articles and plurals, and accurate passive forms. Breaking longer sentences into clearer clauses will help you show range with better control.
