Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant reasons—limited knowledge and a lack of rules—and suggest education, enforcement, and sanctions. The examples of plastic bottles, cartons, and nylon also relate to recycling. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the reasons are stated rather than explained, and the proposed measures are not developed with examples or details about how they would work. The final phrase, “Inaddition,” leaves the second part of the response unfinished, so there is no complete discussion of what can be done. The response is also 131 words below the required minimum, which substantially limits the development of both parts. Explain each cause and solution, and support them with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph introduces causes and solutions, and “To begin with” signals a first point. The examples of recyclable materials follow the discussion of waste, so there is some local connection between ideas. However, progression is limited because the response stops after “Inaddition,” and the proposed solutions are not developed in separate, clearly focused paragraphs. Linking expressions such as “therefore” and “however” are used, but the relationships between ideas are not always clear, and spacing and punctuation make the text difficult to follow. Use one paragraph for reasons and another for solutions, connect each supporting example explicitly to its main point, and avoid leaving a transition unfinished.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “waste,” “plastic bottles,” “environmental health issues,” and “law enforcement.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject and shows an attempt to use terms beyond everyday vocabulary. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “lact of knowledge,” “knowledge deficit to reuse,” and “educate the society on recycle.” These expressions sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for more natural collocations and accurate forms, for example, “lack of awareness,” “limited knowledge about recycling,” and “educate the public about recycling.” Check spelling and word forms carefully, and vary repeated uses of “waste” and “recycle.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to combine ideas in longer sentences, for example by using “because,” “however,” and “therefore,” and the main message is generally recoverable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur repeatedly. In “people does not reuse,” the subject and verb do not agree; “as it is been believed” has an incorrect verb construction; and “after used” needs a grammatical form such as “after use.” The opening sentence also runs several clauses together without clear punctuation, while “further explanation willbe giving” is not correctly formed. Build shorter, complete sentences first, then practise accurate complex sentences and proofread verb forms and punctuation.
